Professional Book Formatting for Indie Authors

Clean, upload-ready eBook and print layouts built in Vellum and customized for your story.

Formatting doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Some writers want to focus on writing. Others simply don’t want to invest in the device or software needed to use Vellum themselves. Whatever your reason, I make it easy to get that professional, polished result without the extra cost or stress.

Save time, skip the tech headaches, and publish with confidence. You don’t need to learn new tools or buy expensive programs, I already have everything in place to deliver clean, consistent results.

If you’re looking for simple, professional formatting without images, ornate flourishes, or unnecessary extras, I’m the practical choice.

Using Vellum’s professional themes, I create layouts that meet industry standards for both eBook and print editions. My services are designed for indie authors who want dependable, high-quality formatting at an affordable rate. You’re not alone in this process, I’ll handle the technical details so you can stay focused on your story.

Services Summary

I format fiction manuscripts for self-published authors who want professional, platform-ready interiors without the learning curve.

eBook Formatting

EPUB (and MOBI on request), clickable Table of Contents, front and back matter setup, and consistent styling across all major devices. I use Vellum’s professional preformatted themes to create clean, upload-ready files that meet current publishing standards.

Print Formatting

Proper trim sizes, mirrored margins, headers and footers, page breaks, and layout that meets KDP and IngramSpark requirements. Your manuscript will be print-ready without the hassle or guesswork.

Add-Ons

Optional decorative chapter headings, additional back matter (such as “Also By” lists or newsletter CTAs), or rush turnaround if you’re on a deadline.

Transparent pricing, clear timelines, and communication every step of the way.
If all you need is straightforward, professional formatting without unnecessary extras, I’m the practical, cost-effective choice.

How it works:

Every Project Follows a Simple, Professional Process

Step 1: Submit Your Manuscript and Forms

Send your final, edited Word file (.docx), along with any front and back matter you’d like included.
You’ll also complete a brief intake form confirming your ownership rights and outlining project details such as:

  • Your chosen trim size (for example, 5×8″, 5.5×8.5″, or 6×9″)

  • Whether you need eBook, print, or both

  • Any specific preferences for chapter styles or front/back matter

  • Your eBook cover file (front image only, JPG preferred) if you’re requesting eBook formatting —
recommended minimum dimensions: 1,600 x 2,560 pixels at 72 dpi (portrait orientation).

Note: Print cover files are not required. Final spine width and cover dimensions depend on the finished page count and should be handled by your cover designer after interior formatting is complete.

Step 2: Formatting in Vellum

I’ll apply your selected trim size, layout preferences, and consistent styling using Vellum’s professional preformatted themes.
All spacing, margins, and alignment are automatically adjusted for your chosen trim size to meet KDP and IngramSpark standards.

Step 3: Review and Approve Your Files

You’ll receive short preview pages to confirm layout and styling before final delivery.
Once final payment is received, I’ll send your complete EPUB and/or print-ready PDF — ready to upload to KDP, IngramSpark, or your preferred platform.

Before We Begin

Print Cover Dimensions

The final page count — and therefore your print cover’s spine width — cannot be confirmed until after formatting is complete.
Please notify your cover designer to wait for the final formatted page count before finalizing your print cover design.

If a new print cover must be created or resized after formatting, this should be arranged directly with your cover designer. I do not offer cover resizing or redesign services.

If your print cover has already been created, please note that the spine width may change once your interior file is finalized. I recommend confirming the final formatted page count before uploading to KDP or IngramSpark.
